BOS + MAILCHIMP INTEGRATION

As a partner of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, having an integrated Mailchimp account connected to the BOS will allow you to automatically maintain an updated mailing list (audience) or parents whose children are registered with your program while safely staying within community guidelines outlined for the program. 

COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING 3 STEPS

STEP 1: CREATE MAILCHIMP ACCOUNT

So that the BOS support team can complete your integration, you must first have a Mailchimp account. An existing account can be used or you may create a new one. Mailchimp only allows one audience on the free account, so if you have an existing account with an audience, you will need to either delete that audience or upgrade to a paid account before we can integrate the list from the BOS.

STEP 2: CREATE API KEY

Once you have your Mailchimp account established, you will need to login and create a free API key by following the steps in this article:  Find and/or Create an API Key. 

STEP 3: COMPLETE THIS FORM

Once you have your Mailchimp API Key created, complete the form below to request account integration with the BOS. 

If you have multiple affiliates who are connected to one Mailchimp account, please provide the required information for each affiliate within the designated fields below in order for your support team to integrate all into one list.

*IMPORTANT: Free accounts must delete any existing audience and all subscribers before the BOS integration can take place. Alternatively, free accounts can upgrade to a paid account which allows for multiple audiences. 

Please provide the following information when you are ready to integrate your BOS and Mailchimp accounts: 

1. Mailchimp API Key
   *Only one API key is needed regardless of how many affiliate accounts are to be connected. 

2. Affiliate Name(s)

3. Affiliate ID(s)

4. Affiliate Mnemonic Code(s)

5. Affiliate Contact

6. Please confirm that you either have a paid Mailchimp account or that you have no audiences and no subscribers. 

Once you have submitted your information via the form mentioned in step 3, the support team will connect your accounts. Once connected, you will be notified. 

IMPORTANT NOTES: 

1. *IMPORTANT - Free accounts must delete any existing audience and all subscribers before the BOS integration can take place. Alternatively, free accounts can upgrade to a paid account which will allow for multiple audiences. 

2. Allow up to 48 hours for your BOS list(s) to sync to your Mailchimp audience completely, especially if you have a large list of incoming subscribers. 

3. You can create segments and tags within the list, but do not edit the data within the list in any way. If edits are inadvertently made to the list, it will break the integration and a per hour fee will be required in order to reinstate the integration.  Once broken, the data no longer syncs and new contacts are not added to your list. 

4. Note that subscribed parents of graduates are not purged from your list. If you wish to remove them from a campaign you are sending, you will need to create a segment for graduates (using birthdate) and choose “contact is not tagged” in the custom advanced segment area.
